Jurassic Park Jeep 14 is a replica of the ranger Jeeps from the original 1993 film — the first and only one built in Puerto Rico. The base is a 1993 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, one year older than the ones used in the movie.
I sourced reference material from the JP Motorpool and Jurassic Park Jeep forum, then found a YJ Wrangler for sale online. After buying it, I spent nearly a year sourcing decals, an antenna, and all replacement parts while waiting for the paint shop to open up.
The repaint, restoration, and accessory work took about 6 weeks. Every paint code and spec was chosen for screen accuracy. Many original parts — rear fog lights, the winch — had been discontinued, so I found the closest alternatives. We wired the front fog lights, installed rear amber lights as functional turn signals, and had a friend fabricate the Mopar bar from plans I drew up using forum reference dimensions. The final piece was a VIPER Max 13000lb winch with a Ramsey decal to match the original.
I couldn’t have done this without my father’s help. This one’s for you, dad.
