SmartPlay is a networked payment and data collection system for arcade environments. Players tap an RFID card to pay for games and collect rewards — replacing physical coins and tickets. Each arcade cabinet is retrofitted with a SmartPlay module connected via Ethernet to a central server that authorizes transactions, manages configurations, and generates usage reports through an admin panel.
Built as my capstone project with a 4-person team (PlaySolutions). I built the hardware arcade cabinet emulator used to simulate real cabinets during development, implemented the coin collector hardware interface, co-designed the UI/UX for the hardware devices, and led the spec design and architecture for the administrator web panel. I also contributed reviews and testing across all other parts of the project.
Team: Luis Torres (PM), Juan Gomez, Andres Cordero, and myself.
